T, Cou "SMETS Outlet" A, Fu, G, HT, L, P

SMETS Outlet
www.smets.lu
3 r. Pletzer, 8080 Bertrange

If you are in need of napkins, sofa, designer shoes, vases, night dress or linens for bed you just might find them at SMETS Outlet. This is a shop that sells out-of-season products from the flagship store SMETS (will be presented later in this blog).  The selection on furniture is rather limited but if you go there once a month or so you just might make good finds. E.g. now they had side tables for 50 euros: I really had to convince myself that I do not have a place for them at the moment.
They have both mens' and women's clothes from high end brands as well as childrens' clothes. They sometimes have linens from Kenzo, Armani and likes, but as said earlier, not the full range, but those that are remaining. Still, if you like SMETS's style, this place is definativelly worth a visit on a regular basis.

P.S I did found there Marimekko's Sukat Rullalla vases in ridiculous prices...

Fleurs Wust

www.fleurswust.lu
Fleurs Arthur & André Wüst
11 rue de Mullendorf
L-7329 Heisdorf (Heeschdref)

First of all, sorry for the delayed posting. Springflu has arrived within the family and hands have been needed elsewhere :-(

Now I am back to business and to cheer everyone up here is an absolutely lovely garden shop for everyone to enjoy. If you are looking for ideas how to decorate home with the help of plants head to Steinsel/Heisdorf. Fleurs Wust has a very wide selection of indoors and outdoors plants. In their greenhouses they have a nice variety of exotic plants for use indoors and now that spring is here the outdoors selection is dangerously lucrative.

Selection of plant accessories is also very good. You will find e.g. flowerpots in different sizes, colors and forms. Also they have decoration items for different seasons. Now, for example, they have painted real eggs for hanging on branches. They also have a nice selection of greeting cards and door wreaths for each season.

If you go want to treat yourself or a friend with a most beautiful bouquet of flowers, Wust is you point of call. They make very creative bouquets that surely will be appreciated!

ATTN: Notice that during the weekdays the shop is closed for lunch hour 12-13:30!

"T" Angle Vert "A, Cu, Fu, G, Ht, L"

Angle Vert
www.anglevert.lu
Zone artisanale et commerciale Junglinster
corner of rue Hiehl and rue Nicolas Glesener

When entering Angle Vert you start to thinks how nice it is spend time in a garden when sun is shining and you can smell the wood burning in the grill when you lay back on your lounger.... Not a bad way to enter a shop! That is probably why they have a sample of garden furniture right by the entrance. They have more inside in their winter garden part of the shop. They supply you with everything you need for your terrace, except for the live plants (they do have artificial ones if you are interested).
The rest of the shop is in two floors. The ground floor is split in two. The main part is dedicated to furniture, mainly for living and dining areas. Their offering is stylish, slightly modern but traditional. You get this central European feeling with the furnishes they supply. It is very cosy, comfortable and not frivolous. Light wood colors in furniture (by Ethnicraft and Mobitec) are combined with soft colours in textiles. They also offer lights that fit the style.
Second part of the ground floor is dedicated to accessories for home. They have a very large selection of Millefiori scents, good selection of candles, Ihr napkins and Guzzini's accessories. They also stock Gien France china. Angle Vert has many fabric representations (e.g. JAB, Eijffinger, Joop, Nobilis). They offer full curtain service indoors as well as outdoors sun protection.
The first floor is a bit letdown with its appearance. It seems that there the enthusiasm has run out and they just have put the beds there. Also you will find there some other furniture, but I have to say, they could have used a bit more effort and imagination to make it look as nice as downstairs.

Mondial Textile "Fa, HT"

Mondial Textile
www.mondial-textiles.be
Centre Commercial Hydrion, Arlon, Belgium
Under Atomic Kids

I had been searching for a textile shop where I could buy fabrics by meter and by a hint from a friend I came across this place. They do not have a huge selection of fabrics but they do have enough nice ones so that you have a good chance of finding fabrics for curtains, pillows, table cloths and upholstery and also for clothes. They have many fabrics in 280cm which makes buying curtains very cost efficient. After you have found you fabric they have all the other supplies as well. They have needles, plenty of ribbons, sewing yarn in wide selection of colors, buttons etc etc. They also have all the necessary extras for making curtains including a selection of rods. They offer sewing services and for curtains they have a good range of models where to select.

In addition they have a rather good and varied crafts department. I found there f.ex. material for filling floor pillows that I could not find anywhere in Luxembourg. Also if you like to start patchworking, you will find here all you need to get started. They also have a good selection of knitting wool, with good quality. They also stock thread for cross-stitch. In addition they have selection of  wooden boxes etc for painting and my favorite were plain wooden swords and daggers for knights to paint themselves.

For sew-it-yourselves, worth a visit!

"MC, Con" First Floor by Prefalux "A, Fu, G, HT, L"

First Floor by Prefalux,
www. firstfloor.lu
Shopping Center Langwies 2, rue Hiehl, Junglinster

This shop works like a vitamin supplement, it simply energises you! It is refreshing that a design shop has a colorful showroom. You are surrounded by interesting and inspiring design and layout is abundant and but not overwhelming. You just have to calm yourself and start looking item by item.
The shop is in one floor (and it seems that they are getting more room). Even when the space is not that huge they have managed to present furniture and accessories that feel current and interesting. Amongst the brands represented are Kartel, Knoll, Fritz Hansen, Hay, Magis and Vitra. Already the list of these tells you about the atmosphere in the shop. When you add there Muuto, Moooi, Carl Hansen, Tom Dixon and Diesel etc you are getting the picture on the furniture and accessories supply.

But it does not end there. They have kitchen supplies as well. They have ceramics and glassware from Iittala (!!!!!) (Teema, Taika, Origo) as well as pots and pans. Also they have small gift items from Iittala like Kivi candle holders and small glass/wood/metal boxes (Vitriini) by Anu Penttinen. Amongst other brands they have Eva Solo products as well as Vipp trash bins. Nice other things as well, worth having a look!

Really Special! If you love Secto lamps and you have to see them live, go to First Floor!
